"Bring thine love unto my lips yet let it prosper, shining bright as ever were on this day our wedding path" - Percy Landers, 1862
Travel Information
There is very little in the way of public transport outside the main cities in South Africa. The easiest way to get around will be to either hire a car for however many days you need it, catch a cab as required or car pool with local or other guests.
Most of the guests will have met each other at some time or another so if you are feeling clever then use the message board to co-ordinate your dates and needs. Car hire is extremely reasonable and costs split between 3 or 4 will be negligable.
CAR HIRE
On doing a bit of research between the 3 car hire companies below, prices have proved to be variable. ie. for 10 days unlimited mileage driving a Toyota Tazz with A/C, prices came in at R2620, R1483(this was with 2000km), R2115 respectively. So please shop around.
Tempest Car Hire
Avis Car Hire
Budget Car Hire
The South African currency is the Rand which normally hovers around 11 to the British Pound. Please see Exchange Rate Calculator. However South Africa is not as cheap as people might like to think. Different areas cater towards tourists and hike up their prices as soon as they hear an accent so do not be afraid to barter.
Braeside is in Balito which is a small coastal town about 25 mins drive north of the city Durban which is where most guests will be flying into.
Please see link below for a little information on the area of Balito

Please see link below for a 'route finder', please be advised that it does not seem to be entirely accurate as it seems to not recognise the N2, a major highway running down the coast of Natal. So please use as a guide, but also deploy common sense.
